Van Fanel

Van is the young and brave king of Fanelia. He is the one of the main characters of the Vision of Escaflowne series and my favorite character of the anime. He is an excellent swordfighter and loves to fight. He is first seen in the series battling a huge earth dragon. Van is aquanted with Hitomi early in the series and eventually develops a strong relationship with her. Van is the only person who can pilot the legendary guymelef Escaflowne because of his blood pact. Van also has some very interesting secrets of his past help to mold his personality.
